In Afghanistan, French journalist Elsa and her colleague Amen are covering the story of Maina, a woman sold to a man when she was a child. Taliban leader Ahmed Zaief abducts Elsa and Amen and tries to force them to read a message to Western governments. The French president sends six Special Force to rescue Elsa who's hidden in a fortress in Pakistan. The team composed of Commander Kovax, Tic-Tac, Lucas, the sniper Elias, Victor and Marius release Elsa and Amen from their imprisonment but lose their radios. Now the group needs to cross the inhospitable land to save their lives with the Taliban chasing them.

I really loved this movie. Is it a big budget flick? No. Is is action packed? Not really. Does it give us a glimpse at the realities of Special Forces operations? Probably. <br/><br/>It is like &quot;Tears of the Sun&quot; on a budget. During a battle scene one of the operators gets shot and he says &quot;it happened so fast&quot;. I can imagine it happening just like that. One moment things are fine, and the next the @#$! hits the fan. That is the beauty of this film. It portrays the realities of combat in the moment, but those moments are far and few between. <br/><br/>The real story is about sacrifice for the person next to you. An emotional film, and worth watching.
after lying at home for over a month….thought would watch it…..what a brilliant film….i mean its well… how do i put it…..&quot; Hollywood&quot;….but NO its NOT…. its a French film….n believe me what a mad crazy brilliant film !!! If you liked a film like the Grey then this is in that zone …..give it 15min n then wait for that moment of a B-52 plane landing in Afghanistan what a shot post a marvelous discussion between the french president and his chief of staff……and after that this is one of those intensely brilliant brilliant films!!!! This tale of an elite military unit assigned to rescue a war correspondent kidnapped by the Taliban is as frenetic and ultimately mind-numbing as a "Call of Duty" videogame, only without the thematic depth.
The FA-MAS is not used as it&#39;s flexibility is not met by the Special Operations requirements. The French army is at the moment ( been so for a few years actually) undergoing try outs for a new service rifle and the ideal platform to test anything rigorously is the SF branch. In the movie you see a wide array of weapons with many permutations. All fitting NATO&#39;s standards, that&#39;s where a main problem with the FAMAS showed and hence the lack of presence… The FAMAS uses a 25 rounds non-standard NATO magazine, which means it cannot be fitted on an other weapon used by NATO forces. The FAMAS G2 on the other hand ( the Navy version) fixed that but was never adopted by the Army. What you get is a display of M4-727, MP5&#39;s, HK 416 (current contender), G36K(current contender), Beretta ARX-160(current contender), FR-2, FPK and so on. It&#39;s a very up to date line-up and realistic one.
